We are the Tuchscher Engineering Group, but you can call us T-E-G!

TEG is a structural and civil engineering firm that was started in 2011 by founder and Principal Engineer, James Tuchscher. James believed there was a different way to run an engineering firm. It seemed to him that for many structural and civil engineering firms, the primary focus was to generate billable hours. So, James started the firm with the notion of getting back to engineering’s roots and simply work to get things built.

Historically, there was one master builder that was in charge of designing, engineering and building. In modern times, this has become the architect, the engineer, and the contractor. TEG was built to focus on supporting our architect and contractor friends, so that these three partners can continue the tradition of the original master builders.

You probably think you don’t know us. After all, our advertising budget is $0, you won't see us in any sponsored google links and we don't know anything about search engine optimization. In fact, our entire clientele has been built on word of mouth. But you do know us. Our projects are part of the Southern California landscape, they’ve won AIA awards and have been featured in Architectural Digest, Dwell, and Eater. However, our greatest achievements are in how many projects we’ve gotten built and we are honored that more than a dozen architects have trusted us to engineer their own homes.

For your project, whether it needs a building, road, pool, shoring or retaining walls, not only do we design it, but we’ll also be there to help get it built.
